HUGEL
GENTIL/ This wine revives an ancient Alsace tradition that wines assembled from noble grape varieties were called "Gentil". Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavour of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of Sylvaner. The resulting wine is aromatic and floral, but still is fresh and bright with a dry finish. From the Winery: “Gentil has become a joyous, convivial wine whose arrival the Hugel family always awaits with impatience in the spring following each vintage. Gentil shows pure, fresh aromas, very fruit-driven and floral, as well as expressive and flattering. On the palate, this dry wine has a lively, youthful fresh character that is refreshing, with a pleasant, scented finish. Gentil is a perfect wine to sip with friends or to enjoy with simple everyday meals. Gentil is best enjoyed chilled with saltwater and freshwater fish, shellfish, starters and hors d’oeuvres.” -Etienne Hugel About the Brand: For over 370 years and with 13-family generations the Hugel family has unrivaled experience and knowledge of Alsace vineyards and winemaking. Known today for their passion and modern outlook, the dynamic Hugel family, located in the picture-postcard fortified village of Riquewihr, has earned a worldwide reputation for their Alsace wines. From Hugel’s Grossi Laüe to Vendange Tardive, their wines are released only when the family agrees they are ready; the focus is ultimate quality. A first-time taste of these wines is a revelation. Critical Acclaim: 2018: 90 points James Suckling "A very clean and citrusy white that shows green apples and lemons. Medium-bodied and very dry, this is sleek, tangy and fruity on the finish. Drink now." James Suckling
