PETITE SIRAH/ The 2012 Petite Sirah Palisades Vineyard, which is still in barrel, reveals peppery, meaty, blackberry and blueberry fruit notes intermixed with a hint of barbecue smoke. The relatively civilized tannins are no doubt attributable to this vintage that has produced such sweet, velvety, fruit-forward wines. Nevertheless, this full-bodied, polished 2012 Petite Sirah is capable of lasting 20 years after its release later this year. Interestingly, Carver Sutro declassified its entire 2011 crop.
